Episode 5: Cattle Class

Image
(Click  for previous  Episode 4 ) Episode 5 : Cattle Class Dear Mr. Pankaj Khanna, As you are no doubt cognisant, the venerable Saar has, for many years, maintained an unwavering philosophical reservation about conversing with, or indeed travelling alongside, the so-called “Cattle Class.” That memorable doctrinal proclamation of 2009 has long since entered the annals of public discourse.  We humble Generation-Z interns at the Ministry of Grandiloquance have therefore taken upon ourselves the solemn responsibility of engaging with the hoi polloi, thereby insulating Saar from the logistical and conversational exigencies of terrestrial democracy. Should any lingering uncertainty afflict you regarding your own taxonomical placement within this grand social menagerie, may I respectfully recommend a leisurely perusal of your own blogs? Their bucolic ambience, redolent with the unmistakable perfume of freshly consecrated cow dung and pa...

Episode 4: Katsaridaphobia: The fear of Cockroaches.

Click  for  previous Episode 3 Episode 4: Katsaridaphobia : The fear of Cockroaches. Dear Ms. Fussy Zaroor , I must confess to being positively exhilarated—or, if I may be permitted one small lexical indiscretion, Lexilarated —upon receiving your epistolary rejoinder to my humble observations on the delightfully labyrinthine subject of the US–Iran accord. Equally enchanting were the bouquets and brickbats you hurled at me with such magniloquent panache that even the insults arrived perfumed with intellectual sophistication. I am further tickled by the revelation that you not only wield your pen in faithful emulation of your revered Saar but have also contrived to replicate his physiognomy with almost unnerving fidelity.  I harbour little doubt that your vocal cadences, too, resonate with the same mellifluous gravitas. Your sartorial predilections, coupled with your carefully choreographed poses before imposing Bookshop surprisingly named ...

Episode 3: Fussy Zaroor arrives.

In response to my recent digital broadcast (dated 15/6/2026) concerning the US-Iran diplomatic tango, I received a curious transmission from one Ms. Fussy Zaroor . Ms. Zaroor appears to belong to that baffling “Zillennial” cohort, and her response has left me entirely at sea. I submit her words to you, dear readers, for I cannot, for the life of me, discern the truth: Is this a standing ovation, or an exquisite, slow-burn roast? Dear Mr. Pankaj Khanna , I must confess to a certain amused admiration for your exuberant deployment of sesquipedalian¹ artillery. To marshal expressions such as “diplomatic metaphysics,” “kakistocracy,” and “parturient” into a single paragraph requires either remarkable lexical confidence or a touching disregard for the welfare of unsuspecting dictionaries and readers. Vocabulary, however recherché², is but the embroidery upon the fabric of prose; the true el...

Episode (2) Lexicomedy set in motion.

Click for Previous Episode 1 Episode 2 : Lexicomedy set in motion. Looking back, I can now identify the precise moment when Lexicomedy first stirred into existence. It was a seemingly innocuous social-media post that I published on 15 June 2026 , written in deliberately Tharoorian English and inspired by the widely discussed US-Iran deal. What began as a playful exercise in linguistic exuberance has since evolved into something altogether more ambitious: a celebration of humour in which language itself becomes the principal comedian . The following is the casual social-media post dated 15 June 2026, reproduced below in italics. I have tried to copy Shashi Tharoor's style using his favourite words. I think this is how he would write about Iran-US Agreement: At an undisclosed longitude of diplomatic metaphysics¹, two venerable custodians of strategic bewilderment, one believer of Kakistocracy² and another parturient³ to deliver, reportedly initialled a pa...
